I’ve just spent the last 12 hours making some promo tapes for my new Welsh language EP called ‘Ymbelydredd’ which is coming out on Peski Records in the next month or so. There’s two in each colour, 5 tracks, all about Cardiff, and growing up in Riverside in the 80s and 90s. You can buy them here if you fancy!

still love this. x

I’m a bit late on this one but I love how they’ve mixed futuristic sounds with a really good old fashioned pop melody. x

Oh I loved this when I was little. Exactly my kind of melody, it’s so melancholy! Listen to  that sadness! And Brenda Wootton is the Queen of Cornish song, absolutely wonderful, I shall post some more of her stuff as I dig it out.. x

I’ve just discovered this, by an artist called Jürgen Müller, who’s entire back story is completely made up and is I think, all the better for it! x

I read a wonderful interview with influential electronic composer Suzanne Ciani in a magazine recently, and she spoke of her excitement of discovering that a machine could make music, and how conservative her fellow pupils and teachers were in their attitude towards this new technology. It must have been so liberating to engage with a completely new instrument and pioneer a technique! And it got me thinking about the exciting times in which we’re living and how much more scope there is for Women to create new Worlds at a point where so many more of us have access to voice our opinion and thoughts and share our ideas with other people across the World.

Suzanne has just released a compilation of unheard rarities on the excellent Finders Keepers label http://www.finderskeepersrecords.com/ I can’t wait to hear it!

I went to visit the Cardiff Story Exhibition at the Old Library in the Hayes today. There was a wonderful bit where they showed short documentaries about the people that have lived and worked in Cardiff over the years and a chap that really stood out to me was Tommy Letton, who sold fresh fish from his barrow on the streets of Bute Town for 40 years. This is a short clip about his relationship with the Arab community there in particular and it really reminded me of how wonderfully multicultural Cardiff is. And it’s funny because I moved to Dalston in London because it reminded me of Cardiff and now I’m back I’m falling in love with the place all over again. x
